The event is sponsored by the Friends of Hashawha Bear Branch and the Carroll County Master Gardeners (CCMG).

CCMGs will host a number of tables from information about bees and butterflies (is one a better pollinator than the other?); Bay-Wise tips; and much more. A Scavenger Hunt highlights some of the wildlife that lives at the Nature Center and in the Children’s Room kids will learn how to create their own games.

Scavenger Hunt: Learn about some of the wildlife that lives at the Nature Center. Complete the hunt, turn in your answers, and receive a reward at the prize table.

Children’s Room: Learn how to make games at home from recycled materials. Garden supplies and wildlife support materials made from recycled materials will be on display with instructions on how to make them at home.

Plant Clinic: Have trouble with your tomato plants every year? Wondering what tree to plant? Do you have a problem with Japanese stilt grass? Get answers to gardening questions from Master Gardeners.

Bay-Wise: Most Maryland residents live within ½ a mile of a storm drain, stream, or river. Learn about our impact on the health of local waterways, the Chesapeake Bay, and our environment.

Pollinator and Native Plant Info for All: Looking for native plants that you and pollinators will love? Interested in tips and tricks for caring for your garden? Want to welcome pollinators, fireflies or other invertebrates to your garden? Looking to plan or redesign your garden but need some ideas? The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation has free material for you and kids of all ages!

Free Plant Seeds: Packaged by the CCMGs, seeds, information on seed saving, and more are available for free.
