Sat., May 20: American Chestnut Trees Need You (Again)

Volunteers are needed to mulch trees at the Seed Orchard at 10 a.m. on Sat., May 20. The orchard is located at the Central MD Research & Education Center (CMREC), 4240 Folly Quarter Rd., Ellicott City, MD.

There are approximately 1,700 trees that need to be mulched. It should take 2 to 3 hours depending on the number of volunteers. Please bring work gloves and 5-gallon plastic buckets to haul chips. (A team worked last Monday until they ran out of chips.)

Anyone who would like to volunteer should call David Gill, Maryland Chapter, The American Chestnut Foundation, at 301-540-6671.
